Hustlers Bangkok: Where the Pro and Amateur Pool Players Meet

Mihnea: Hi, this is Mihnea. I’m downtown Bangkok at Hustlers Bangkok. It is one of my favourite hangout areas in Bangkok. I just came to check it out and have a discussion with Stuart, the manager of this establishment. Hi Stuart.

Stuart: Hi Mihnea.

Mihnea: How’s it going?

Stuart: Very well thank you. Good to see you again.

Mihnea: Have you guys been missing me?

Stuart: Not really.

Mihnea: I was away for a while and I usually come here just to play some pool once in a while. I’m not a professional player. I just play pool for fun like most of the people coming to Hustlers Bangkok, but Stuart here used to be a professional player. Isn’t it Stuart?

Stuart: That’s right. I started being a professional when I was 16 years old, just left school. I played on the professional circuit for nearly 20 years and 6 years ago, I retired and moved to Thailand.

Mihnea: You retired because of what?

Stuart: I retired because I was bored playing snooker all my life, I was bored of travelling, I was bored of living in an hotel towers, I was bored of practicing and the pressure was too much and I decided to quit.
